Day one of our holiday in Tokyo. We found a local supermarket and made our first attempt at vegan food shopping in Japan.
We bought some pickled plums, pre-packed soy beans with vegetables, several packets of tofu, and some packs of mixed salad vegetables.
There wasn’t much in the way of fruit, just a few bananas and a couple of very expensive apples (more than £1/ €1/$1.50 each!)
The Google Translate app on our phones was quite useful but we were lucky that the supermarket had some items marked (partly) in English.
